Having had the passion for photography for over 20 years.   My early ambitions were to capture fast action images on a film point and shoot Canon.  Understanding shutter speeds and film sensitivities allowed me to capture crisp images at local automotive races and airshows.  Once my techniques improved, I purchased my first film Canon EOS Rebel.  The ability to use interchangeable lenses opened up the world of creativity, which allowed me to explore different types of photography, which include sports, still art, architectural, travel, event, and portrait.

 

Understanding my equipment became my next passion, so I decided to take up photography classes at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.  Classes included Intro to Photography, Creative Photography, and Developing and Processing.  These courses allowed me to translate my story I wanted to communicate through the medium of photography.  Understanding composition and lighting using film allowed me to efficiently communicate a set of images to effectively tell a story.  Learning to shoot on film disciplined me to set up an image and understand what I would need to do to get the perfect capture, develop, and process it to clearly communicate a story.

 

Freelancing as a photographer, I take pride in shooting everything from sports to portraiture to landscape since transitioning to digital.  Known for pushing the limits of my equipment and resources, I get the most out of my camera and lighting.  Moving with technology is something I strive for, but the ability to approach a project from multiple perspectives allows me to pass on the value of any requirements to my clients, so technology does not define my ability.  Using natural sunlight provides the best lighting for my subjects, so location photography within Orange and Los Angeles Counties is a plus with our beautiful landscapes and backdrops.
